Alejandro Garnacho Appears to Change Name in Rebrand Ahead of Man Utd Exit

One of the big transfer stories at Manchester United this summer revolves around the future of Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine appears to be destined for the exit door, having been left out of the squad for the club's pre-season tour of the US.

Indeed, it's no secret that Ruben Amorim has told Garnacho to look for a new team, allegedly telling the winger back in May after the Europa League final loss vs Tottenham Hotspur: "You better pray that you can find a club to sign you."

At this stage of the summer, though, it remains unclear just where Garnacho will end up. The 21-year-old has been linked with Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham, and is supposedly keen to remain in the Premier League, but there is still some way to go before his future is decided.

However, in a possible attempt to rebrand ahead of his touted Man Utd exit, the Argentine appears to have changed his name.

Alejandro Garnacho Changes His Name On Social Media

Will now be the same as his father's

Born 1 July 2004, the forward's full birth name is Alejandro Garnacho Ferreyra. Eagle-eyed fans have spotted a tweak to his social media name, though, with the footballer now simply going by 'Alex Garnacho' on his official Instagram page.

The player is yet to give an official explanation for the change. Interestingly enough, his Spanish father's name is Alex. What's more, he is closely associated with Leader Sports Management, who are Garnacho's agents and will no doubt have a big role to play in any move away from Old Trafford this summer.

As he has Garnacho printed on the back of his shirt, any official or unofficial name change is not likely to impact his kit on match day, wherever he ends up playing next season. And fans have joked that the Anglicised switch is only to help boost his transfer value.

Garnacho is one of a few big names expected to leave Old Trafford this summer. Marcus Rashford has already joined Barcelona, while Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia are also likely to be moved on.
