USMNT star Christian Pulisic goes into Roy Keane mode after posting personal best & becoming top scorer at AC Milan
WHAT HAPPENED?
Manchester United legend Keane is famed for his no-nonsense approach to punditry duty, with the Irishman not one to hand out praise lightly. He is always reluctant to salute those that are considered to have merely done their “job” on the field.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Pulisic is buying into that mindset despite becoming a talismanic presence for Milan. He was among the goals again as the Rossoneri claimed a much-needed 2-0 victory over Venezia in Serie A.
DID YOU KNOW?
The United States international now has reached double figures for goals and assists in the Italian top-flight this season, pulling him level with team-mate Tijjani Reijnders, and is Milan’s outright leading marksman with 16 efforts across all competitions.
WHAT CHRISTIAN PULISIC SAID
Quizzed by DAZN on those achievements, Pulisic said: “I don’t know the numbers, we’re not competing, but it’s always good to score goals and get assists. That’s our job.
“We have to be decisive in games. We want to finish well. The cup (final) is definitely the most important game, but it’s still important to have continuity.”
WHAT NEXT?
Milan are in serious danger of missing out on a top-six finish this season. With that in mind, Coppa Italia glory is crucial to their European qualification aspirations, with Bologna their opponents in the final of that competition on May 14.
