Santiago Giménez leaves a 'little message' after Champions League elimination

AC Milan faced their first major setback of the season, getting knocked out in the Play-Off stage against Feyenoord, who were considered the underdogs despite having an advantage from the first leg. The blame game has begun, especially targeting Conceicao and Theo Hernández.

The Rossoneri were dominating the match, taking the lead just 40 seconds in with a goal from Santiago Giménez, leveling the aggregate score. Things were looking up for Milan to make a comeback and advance to the Round of 16.

After the match, Giménez couldn't hide his disappointment at not advancing to the next round, despite scoring his third goal for AC Milan. The Mexican knew the team was playing well, creating danger in the opponent's area, but they couldn't adjust after being reduced to ten men.

“We were really excited at the start with the early goal, playing well, creating chances, but we missed two opportunities and that's football, everything can change in a second. We didn't know how to fix it, and now we just have to keep quiet. We still have the Cup and the League.”

Giménez knows they need to turn things around starting tomorrow. Despite Milan's last two victories, the team isn't doing well in Serie A, currently far from European spots. They need to focus on the local league. Next Saturday, they'll face Torino.

“The reaction is to keep quiet and work from tomorrow. Follow the instructions of the staff and the coaching team, there's no other way.”
